The Town Forum Working for Fowey
The Fowey Town Council set up a Parish Plan Working Group comprising of members of the Town Council and Town Forum as well as independent members.
The Working Group undertook a survey of local residents and produced a Parish Plan in 2005.
The Parish Plan identified a number of priorities for the town. The Forum identified outcomes that would meet those priorities and set up a series of projects that they have been working on since.
The "Heritage Project" was set up a to research, evaluate and develop opportunities for improving public areas for the benefit of both visitors and residents. There was to be particular emphasis upon Town Quay and other wate facing areas.
A "Regeneration" project was set up to promote new businesses and employment for local people. An important aspect of this project is support for a proposed Marine Park led by local consultants, companies and Plymouth University.
